Research

I am an extragalactic astronomer and am interested in galaxy and star cluster formation and evolution, dark matter in galaxies and in the universe, as well as observational techniques and data-driven astronomy.

currently, my research focuses on the properties of “globular clusters of dwarf galaxies” to understand the connection between dwarf galaxies, their star clusters, and their dark matter halo. For my research, I use space-based observational facilities, in particular the recently launched ESA/Euclid Space Telescope. To complement the high-quality data of space-based telescopes, I use the data of large ground-based telescopes at e.g. ESO, and CFHT.

I am an active member of the Euclid Consortium science working groups and co-lead of the science working group “Local Universe”.
